Post Open Letter to the Fans
I have recently experienced a loss. Not a loved one or a friend, in fact, not a human at all. A TV show. Specifically LOST. In my opinion this last season has overall been a dismal failure and a blot on the show's otherwise stellar record.
I am not going to go into why I feel this way and I am not inviting a discussion of the merits of the final season or the show as a whole. There are plenty of other forums for those types of discussions.
Given that the ending of LOST is a disappointment to people because of their expectations not being met, I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify something regarding the end of Trickshot so no one's expectations get too high and I end up in the same boat as Damon and Carlton.
Trickshot is hung on a rather unorthodox narrative structure. The story is not being told in logical order. As such the normal flow of storytelling, that is Introduction - Rising Action - Climax - Resolution, does not work here. Instead drama is more a result of reveals that happen organically. For instance, Jericho. Jericho as an event occurs at the end of Chapter 7. However it is mentioned in course a few times, though it's nature is never divulged. That worked for Jericho, but the same tactic could not work with the Flashback mission as that mission begins the story. However, as you got the conclusion of the Flashback mission right out the gate, there were still pieces missing and those pieces naturally did not come until later.
This is the way storytelling works in Trickshot, you get some of the story and then later you get the rest.

So let me lay it out for you in case you were wondering. Chapter 8 of Trickshot tells the story of the genesis of the culture behind the Chronodynamics Guild. Chapter 9 outlines the development of time travel and concludes the story of the Axion. Chapter 10 is Markos' story and explains the Trickshot.

There is only one big twist, but for the most part the rest of the story ties up a loose end here and there and explains why the Guild needed Flashback and how they counteracted Jericho.

And that's it. If you are disappointed I'm sorry. But please keep in mind, I am not a real writer, this whole story is really just a first draft based on a big story I have been working on for close to 20 years. There are bound to be less-than-polished parts. The good news is when all is said and done I can always work on v2 and fix whatever is broken.

while I do not share, completely, your sentiments regarding LOST's final season, as you pointed out, there are other forums for that discussion.

However, I do take exception to your claim of not being a real writer. I think that the imaginative nature of your narrative structure, and well, the balls to put yourself out there with your story, more than qualify you, as legitimate. Now, I am certainly no literary scholar, or even a science wiz, but, I know what I like, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the story and the manner in which it is presented. Despite all my whining about the hiatuses (or is it haiti?). The characters are well developed, the story interesting, the science plausible, hell, I even enjoy the images. Let us not forget the pop ups as well. If anyone does not enjoy the site, or complains, try another place. I have said this before, you do a nice job, and provide this free of charge to those of us who are interested.

Any complaints should find their way to the appropriate file, trash.

Thanks Fed, though all your praise makes it look like I was fishing for a compliment! ;)

all I was trying to say is that I am not holding back a major chunk of the story, no big series of reveals or twists are in store. as the final chapters of Trickshot unspool, they will basically be filling in the holes that I have, out of necessity, placed in the story.

In fact, one could say the last two chapters are something of a prequel to the story you've read up to this point.
